Hi, i was at my lfs yesterday and the guy gave me this snail he said it was a chocolate striped snail? I haven't heard of these before and I haven't found any information on them. That looks a lot like my Japanese Trapdoor snails. They are cool snails! If you are lucky, that's what you have. They are live bearers and won't self-replicate or lay eggs.

This one looks pretty much full sized... My oldest ones are about 1.25" trapdoor to point. They are over a year old.

Pretty sure that the guy at your lfs isn't trained properly or knowledgable about anything snails xD Wow.

Your right none of them are, there's been a few times I've had to correct them regarding snail's the names they've gave them has had me in giggles :)
