I came home today to find on of my mystery snails on the bottom where hes been. As I was wathching one of my minnows swam past the snail, causing him to lift up alittle and that's when I noticed the lack of the trap door. I didn't know if fell of or for some reason became soft.
But a few minutes later I found the trap door a little further down the tank.
Im pretty sure my snails still alive, theres no smell, and when I picked him up with the net some bubbles came out. I put him in my spare 2 gallon for the moment.

Is there anything I can do for him?

Usually the door don't come off unless he's dead, it takes a while for the smell to start. I've had dead ones that didn't smell for a few days.

I had a similar experience with an apple snail. It was only a matter of days before it stopped moving at all. He will not generate a new trap door, so keep an eye on him or he will foul the water and stink like nothing you have ever smelled before. Sorry for your loss!
