I have been eye balling the stainless steel tools I see the pro's use, but then I thought, what are you girls/ guys using when setting up your tanks?

I use normal scissors to cut any dead/dieing plants. I also use a paint brush too tidy up substrate. Of course the number one tool for everyone is their eyes. It would be hard to have a good looking aquascape without your vision right?

This guy.. xD Lol :p I use a normal pair of scissors and a lame pair of old scissors and a credit card to level the substrate. I wish I had enough money for expensive tools though.

Qwe123 dropping a killer link! I will have to pick those up. For now I will keep with what I have. Like Jemi I too use regular scissors and these.

I got the deluxe set, and I only use 3 of the 6 typically, but I like having options and it's pretty much 6 for the price of 2 bought individually. I LOVE THE ZIP CASE... I am notorious for losing tools!

Nice. My girl friend bought me that same kit and it has kept my arms dry and my tanks clean. I too enjoy the zipper case. If you put a couple of silica packets in the case you will never get rusty equipment (something we have to worry about in Hawaii with all of the sea air + humidity).

Here are the tools in my arsenal (not my pics btw)...

Best scissors to date imho... after using these, my straight and curved scissors have been basically made redundant, unless for cutting larger stemmed plants...

A Curved and Straight pair of these...

And two pairs of tweezers... one with a much pointier end for planting carpeted plants...
