I was thinkign about growing a carpet off dwarf baby tears (HC) in my 10 gallon tank. It would be injected with DIY CO2.

So the question is... would a T8 15 watt 6500k bulb be enough for HC to thrive.

If not, please leave suggestions...

:)

youd be able to grow absolutely anything you want with this light. DIY Co2 would be out the window tho, you would have to go with Pressurized, you would need to have a consistent source of Co2 otherwise you wont grow anything but algae. Also Ferts of some kind would be required.

Diy Co2 is pressurized thats the only way gas can diffuse through ceramic. Granted, diy co2 creates problems because you cannot control the consistency of gas being released but members here like Mario, have great results with diy co2.

DIY Co2 may have pressure, but that doesnt make a pressurized Co2 system. When i say "pressurized Co2 system ", that means something with a refillable co2 tank, regulator, solenoid and all that.

take a look through this thread, maybe start with the last post and work your way back.

That is mis information. You and I both have a system with no solenoid, no percesion needle valve and only a low end regulator. Pressurized means that it there is gas being contained and slowly let out which is what occurs when you bottle water, sugar and yeast and allow it to bud and produce Co2 (if it was not pressurized it would not disperse through a ceramic diffuser thus the yeast to sugar ratio should reflect that). Non pressurized co2 is liquid additives like excel and co2 booster from API. And like I said, people have great results with diy co2.
check out this link OP,.i am sure you have seen it Sean, just slipped you mind ;)

my regulator has a solenoid, and what i would consider to be a needle valve.
