Java Moss die off

I have a 20L with RCS,gravel, flower pots and a lot of java moss. The moss was growing fine, stretching up to the suraface, now all the sudden there a brown patch on the bottom and the moss has fallen flat.


I know a ton about fish, not much about moss!

That sounds horrible! Did all of the moss die, or just the old stuff? How are the shrimp?

Some more info would help, like the tank setup, a time line of when things were added up to the die off, parameters now and anywhere in the time line, and maintenance description and schedule.
