Awe man, now you have my attention! haha

Im starting a 110 gallon high tech tank, and im going dirt for the first time, have you seen my build log?

http://www.aquariacentral.com/forum...9-My-planted-110-gallon-build-log-(5-Viewing)

I used scotts Topsoil and im currently going through the mineralizing process, did you do anything to your miracle grow before you put it in and capped it?

And nice, you have a amazon puffer, love it! from what ive read and watched they are the most peaceful puffer, looking forward to the day i get my hands on one.

Nice! I can't wait until I'm a home owner and can have a 100+ gallon tank. Right now I'm in an apartment and aquariums are not usually allowed in my complex but I got permission when we signed out first lease. I'll be checking out your build log after I post this.

I just used to Miracle-gro right out of the bag... it really released tannins the first two months... my water was yellowish brown. But I just did a lot of water changes to keep it clear looking. It doesn't seem to be releasing any tannins anymore.

The puffer is amazing! He's very docile and has never shown any aggression towards any of his tank mates... except Malaysian trumpet snails. It's pretty fun watching him swim over the dwarf sag eyes moving like a chameleon's hunting snails. I just wish I had a couple more. I ordered three when I got him. One was DOA and the other just wasn't in great shape and wasted away after about a month.

I doubt you could get one to eat flakes. Mine eats frozen blood worms and freeze dried blackworms and snails. They have to have something crunchy like snails in their diet to keep their teeth warn down.
