I have a pair of Peacock Gudgeons who appear to be spawning for the first time in my 40B! She has the yellow spot on her belly and he has picked out a cave so I am excited about that! My question is that I still need to do a water change this week. Is it best to put it off a few days as not to interrupt them? Or should I just go ahead and do the water change to ensure that they have ideal water conditions? Thanks for the help!

Agreed, go ahead and change the water. You could be carefull with the vac and keep it away from them so as not to stress them.

I'm not familiar with Papua New Guinea's rain patterns, but many Amazon fish spawn after rains, which cool the water slightly. A water change with cooler water than is in the tank is what got my tetras started.
