My old LAC 829 canister filter (what would now be a Jebo 829, I believe) is making a hell of a racket. Has done for ages, but I transferred some of my fish to a new tank in the lounge from the kitchen a couple of days ago along with it and as I spend most of my time in here, I've remembered how bad it is!
Performance isn't affected at all, no leaks and flow is fine. But it's annoying as hell so I'm wondering if there's a fix for it. I've done a spectacularly bad video here (my phone can't handle anything less than full daylight for videos, stupid thing):

It was easier to youtube it than fiddle around with a sound file I suspect it's the impellor or impellor housing - I have a Fluval 304 on another tank that makes a very similar noise when the impellor cover has come unclipped, but that one stops moving water when that happens. This one though does this noise all the time, but runs fine. Could anyone confirm it's the impellor or suggest otherwise? I'm wary of trying to fix it without a fair idea what's causing it as I can't afford to replace the whole filter!
