My platy died today and to me it looked like it was just old but then I found this coming out of him. It looks like a worm coming out of the fishes butt. Should I worry about an infestation? This fish has been in there for months but a newer platy died yesterday and it had a black thing in it's belly and always stayed at the bottom of the tank while eating little.

yup looks like camallanus ..do your research , I suspect the tank could be infected if the host lived in it for months
