when i first bought the fish, i saw nothing on its tail, and within a day later, the tip of it seemed like it was sheding. even then it was surprisingly active, even when the lights were on. its scales were white and had the appearance that it would shed off like a reptile's would. now, the "white scales" are spreading up on to its body, and it has become more listless than before. none of my other fish have it, so far, or had it before. im confused at what this maybe so i could treat it, if possible. here are some pics attached..

edit: just saw his head after looking a little bit closer.. i dont think hes gonna live

nothing i can do?

Not familiar with these myself but it looks like some kind of bacterial infection. Put him in a quarantine tank if possible-tip top water quality suitable for him and some antibiotic like Furan 2 or another.
