I'm thinking about getting back into plants. I used to use the 2 litre with yeast DIY setup. I have a 10 gal tank with a HOB filter as well as a powerhead. I've been debating setting up the powerhead in a RUGF, but I have heard RUGF isn't great for planted tanks because the roots can clog the filter plates(years ago, is this still true?) My powerhead has a port to hook up a tubing line to the outlet which, ATM I have hooked to an air pump, for no reason other than I like the way the bubbles look. I am wondering if it would work to hook a DIY CO2 line there, if it would be sufficient to diffuse the CO2. Also, if I did set it up as RUGF, would injecting the CO2 into the substrate be a good or bad thing? I know I could just buy a difuser, but I'm just exploring the unconventional. Anyone here ever try it?
