Hi, trying to help out a friend setting up a tank, he bough a house it came with a 110GL tank, full set up, was previously a Salt water tank set up.
I never had to convert from Salt to Fresh water before. He wants to do a planted Fresh Water tank set up.
Any ideas?
What steps to take, it's a full setup sump the works that he has now.

Will be getting a new canister tank, also ideas on which filter for that size.

A good scrub, rinse, refill and throw a bunch of established filter media in the sump. A little confused on the filtration though. You say fill sump setup. Isn't that your filtration system? Why the need for the canister filter.. unless it's for extra filtration?

It appears to be much easier to do canisters as opposed to hobs for planted tanks, or just one giant sump.

Yes, didn't know if the sump was a good idea, but from what I see since it is in place would be a great idea to use it.
The canister would be an add on.
