Just bought a used tank and this guy came with it. He's about 4.5" long excluding the tail. She said he was a sailfin pleco, but doesnt look like one to me. Seems big for a BN, especially since no bristles would indicate female. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. I would love to have an idea about how big it's going to get so I can see if I need to rehome it or if it will be fine in the 90 gallon.

EW is right, a long finned BN, maybe a calico. Depending on your stock in the 90g, she should be fine. She'll need a hiding spot & no fin nippers

Yeah, she has driftwood caves and regular caves. I just didnt know if there were longfinned common plecos or longfinned sailfin plecos and I would have to worry about her getting 12+ inches. Stock wise, she'll be fine in that tank, nothing to bug a pleco.

That is definitely a common long fin bristlenose. She should max out at 3-4 inches. 5" would be pretty big. I have had these for 5+ years and bred them. Awesome little things to watch. They just need wood, and they won't bother your plants much.

Lol that will definitely be fine in a 90... they are among the smaller species of plecos
