I'm finally getting a decent stocking in my 165g after the crash this summer. Current inhabitants are a very large oscar, a large jack dempsy, 6 spotted silver dollars, 2 red hook silvers, a flagtail, a sengel bichir (brand new!) And 2 farowela cats. (Along with a huge blue mystery snail, 2x columbian ramshorns, and a yellow rabbit snail)

The bichir is going to be fun. Mine has grown very fast since I got him back in May. No problems with getting him to eat either. Seems to really love shrimp pellets, but I also supplement with frozen foods.

Ya I'm excited about the bichir, just put him in and he oscar stared at him and passed him right over so I'm hoping the two will get along as he was a bit expensive for being so small. He is already munching on a massivore pellet

I had one years ago with Jack Dempseys, with no problems. The current one was around 2 inches when I got him, he's now closer to 5. Used to hide all the time, but now he's a lot more active. I used to have a lot of plant cover for him to hide in (as well as some cave decorations), but my tinfoil has pulled up most of the smaller plants. I did find that mine used to rest in the mass of floating plants.

They are really great fish, with fun personalities.
