I have a 55 gallon tank that I currently have nothing in, but up to about a week ago it had a Redear Sunfish in it. I collected this fish from the wild, and I know that it had anchorworms, but I treated the tank with salt and he got over them. My question is, how long can the parasites survive in the tank with no host? If I do a 100% water change, will be safe to add new fish? I am concerned that the fish may have been carrying other diseases.

Development is temperature dependent. At room temp, 3 weeks should be adequate, but a month would be a sure thing.
