Hi all,
I have 15 cardinals, a Scalare Angel and 3 Rams in my 24 gallon blackwater. TDS 114 ppm, temp 29C, pH 7.0, Ammonia, Nitrite & Nitrate all 0 (have lots of floating plants). They readily accept live tubifex worms but I know these are not good. I tried Tetra bits complete, Hikari micro pellets but the cardinals spit them out, the angel just will not take them. Rams do their things in the tea colored depths of the tank, so not very sure if they are sampling them. Completed 2 weeks after cycling today. Tank has roots and several Indian almond leaves.
The same pellets are greedily gobbled up by the cardinals in my 29g planted.
Do I simply deny them other food and erode their obstinacy? Or should I give in? Please do keep in mind that we do not have frozen live food in my part of India; Daphnia, blackworms, mosquito larvae are not options till I can personally culture them. I can DIY though with recipes found in the web.
Thanks. This is a great site.
