Now that I am steered in the right direction, I was able to find it in my freshwater aquarium encyclopaedia and have the answers to my questions. Heartfelt thanks to the repliers JAY973 and petluvr for their prompt and valuable help. Now the challenge is to discover the variety.

Dr. A, Keep in mind anubia is a slow grower that likes low light. I've got bunches similar to your pic in two of my tanks that took about a year to get that size. If I tried more light on them, the leaves would just algae-up.

Really? And I was wondering if this was a young or fully grown plant. The leaves are about the size of a quarter.
