He might but I am not seeing anything that would really ring my alarm bells. That said, you know him better. If you are worried I would then do water changes and see if he improves.

Thanks for the response SirMuffin! I forgot to add that Cosmo was originally my younger brother's betta in a really neglected tank! :-(

He is very active and a hungry little piggy! The other day he was even making a bubble nest!

I feed him and the cardinal and drop 2 algae wafers for the nerite snails. But the other day I notice he was eating those from the gravel!!
I was like, "that's not for you"!

What really worries me is (see the pictures, just in case you are unable to see the video):

1. the fading of the color blue in the ventral fin. The pale red you see near the body.

2. In some parts of the edge is black.

3. The pinholes on the ventral fin.

What you guys think? Do I QT him? Do I do more frequent water changes? (Currently do 50 percent water changes) Do also start dosing salt to the tank?

He looks really good and healthy. Any fin deterioration is probably from his previous home. Keep up on weekly water changes and it's good to go. He's in a 20g paradise, with just a cardinal in with him!.

What freshly said. Since he was neglected before, clean water could have effects on him. High nitrates to lower nitrates could weaken him. From the looks of it, he looks healthy just needs som e attention and clean water.
