I know some people have used plastic needlepoint canvas for dividers and whatnot and usually it is probably okay. I have used it myself in my tank with no problems. However, today I purchased some from a well-known hobby store and have noticed it smells like gasoline. This particular brand is made in China. Some other plastic canvas I purchased today from the fabric store, a different brand made in the US, seems fine. Needless to say, the Chinese stuff is going back to the store. Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up to look for the US brand and smell the canvas before you buy it.
