Does anybody like/use 2x250 watt metal halides and leds for their salt setups?

Hey guys I have a 48" 2x250 watt metal halide and led moonlight light setup, has anybody ever used these on a saltwater aqaurium? I got them with a tank purchase off craiglsist but I'm a low tech guy and I'm freshwater I just like to use fluorescent lights does anybody have experience with these? Thanks

I am all LED now but I've used halides in the past. 2 250's is a lot of light be good for growing sps.

Current USA is pretty decent quality. If one wanted to do a reef tank halides would be a good way to go they'll grow just about any coral you want. Main downside with halides is they give off a lot of heat and suck up a lot of electricity compared to LED's.

I had pretty much that exact fixture over a 55gal reef. It was pretty overkill, but I was able to grow most anything I tried (never tried some of the more difficult acros). I was very happy with it, it was a well built fixture.
