Can anyone tell me what type of plant (on the driftwood) this is and how it should be planted?

What does the base of the plant look like? Is it green and thick like a pencil or is it fuzzy brown irregular shaped. A sword would have a base but not have any length to it since it would put roots out of that base.

The first option I mentioned could be an anubius, the second an aponogeton.
