My midas finally died

I bought him as a baby 12 years ago. He got up to 9 inches long, 12.8 oz. He had been "playing dead" for the last couple of years, but the last couple of weeks he had a hard time even getting up for food.

Sorry to hear this. It's pretty easy to get attached to big, intelligent cichlids. I had an 11 year old Jaguar Cichlid that I had to put down a few years ago after his heater malfuctioned and all but cooked him. If that didn't happen he'd probably still be around today.
