I originally had 3 African Cichlids in my 20 gallon tall tank, When one morning I woke up to 2 of them dead, and one of them was trying to jump out of the tank, and kept swimming upside down. Does anyone know why this might have happened?
Very few African cichlids are suitable for a 20 long anyways...most are fairly territorial in some way and require space and special consideration when stocking.
There are numerous "African cichlids"....pics and/or clarifying what you have as a second step to giving us water parameters from a good liquid test kit...
+1 you need to test the water for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate
if this is a new set up and you didn't use media from an established aquarium . my first thought would be towards possible toxins .
I recognize him from another forum I'm on... asked the same question. Welcome to AC, Wessel. Only African cichlids that are suitable in a 20g are the shell dwellers from Lake Tanganyika......
