Just picked this guy up for free from somebody. Anyone know what it is? He is about 3"'s long and they said about 3 years old.

Well with a little searching I think it is a Striped Raphael Catfish which is perfect! I wasn't sure what tank I was going to put him in but it sounds like he will do well in my 125 South American set up. Max size 7" and peaceful. Perfect.

Yep, definitely a Striped Raphael. I had a pair of them for a number of years. They're a peaceful cat species but they could hold their own in my semi-aggressive and aggressive cichlid tanks. They were also great scavengers of leftover food. My only beef with them was that you never saw them until the lights were turned off. Mine would hide in the driftwood all day.
