Hey all. Its been a while, but the addiction still continues lol. Finally decided to rip my 20 gallon apart and re-plant. Went from gravel to a MGOCPM dirted substrate. This will be a low light no co2 setup. The light I am using is the Satellite Freshwater Led Plus. Here are some pics of the setup process.
Red clay and leonardite base.
Added the MGOCPM mixed with some more clay and leonardite. Also tossed in a few cups of gravel and mulm from the pre existing tank. Topped with another thin layer of dirt. The MG pre-soaked for two weeks by the way. Total dirt depth 1 1/4".
Previously I had bought a bag of Azoo Plant Grower Bed to give it a try. Then i decided on the MG. I ended up using the Azoo to build up the back figuring it would breath a bit better than using the cap. Depth is 3"- 1 1/2" from right to left.
Capped with an inch of Black Diamond sand blasting grit. I had a couple pieces of manzanita and some other driftwood that I collected. The rocks are petrified wood.
Plant list:
Crypt wendtii, hygro difformis, hygro corymbosa "compacta", bacopa caroliniana, crypt walkeri var. Lutea, aponogeton boivinianas (i think), and ludwigia repens.
