In illinois
I just found one of my panda Corys dead. He had been acting normal and all of a sudden he died. I also just noticed the red in the hills and body. Anyone know what it is?

How long have you had this fish? If it's new, it's not uncommon for fish to be diseased right from the store.

The fact you are indicating no nitrates is a problem. A stocked, established tank with a proper nitrogen cycle is going on produces nitrates.

What test kit are you using? If it's the API Master Test Kit, a common mistake is not following the nitrate test kit to a "T". Gotta shake the heck out of bottle #2 and you have to shake the completed test tube vigorously, for a minute, then let it set 5min before you read it.
