Hi everybody
I am stocking my 20 gallon long tank and my idea is to do 1 dwarf gourami, 10 cardinal tetras, and 6 pygmy cories. Does this work? Also, would it look better to do 2 groups of schooling fish with 5 fish each instead of 1 group of 10 cardinals? I'm open to other suggestion as well. Thanks!

I think sticking with one schooling fish is better in 20 long tanks. It will show off the gourami more appropriately.

I'd do 20 cardinals myself. Other than that you're fine.

Yes, I agree too. I like one-schooling species per 15-20 gal. So, it would be best if you had only one school. With Cardinals, or Neons, 20 and the Gouramis would be OK. Other tetras, about 10+ is better.

Thanks guys! So I can do 1 dwarf gourami and 20 cardinals right? Would the tank be overstocked with the pygmy cories? Or should i leave them out?

I think that would be perfect with the cory. Depending on how you cycle, you may not want to add them all at once.

Which "Pygmy" cory are you going to add?? I would recommend Hastatus, Pygmeus (IMO) does not like to stay on the bottom, but is a little more colorful.

I have about 20 Cardinals in a 20 long with a pair of Borelli Apistos. Looks awesome

Unless I am wrong, I think that Hasbrosus is the bigger of the three dwarfs.
