so I found I have a problem with one of my pairs of fish. We have 2 pairs of False Percs and 1 pair of Maroons.

The Maroons weren't paired, I just got a real big one and a real small one and put them together, and everything was groovy, they got alone great.

Well today I started to notice the smaller one, his stripes are starting to turn GOLD!

Thats right, it was just a Juvi Gold Strip the whole time, not a true Maroon.

So the question is, what are the odds or is it even possible that these guys will mate? Like I said, they get along great, and school together non-stop. But they aren't the same type!

Any ideas?

They are color variants of the same species, so they should mate and produce fertile offspring. Like black and regular ocellaris.

I can't find anything here about the inheritance pattern, though. Somebody must know whether the kids will be regular or gold-striped.
