Trying to start up again
i have no shelf for plants in my pond. i've just built a fence to go around it and now i would like some plants to grow against it as i think it would look good, and plants are useful for using up nitrates.

i would like a 'fake' shelf to go along the left hand side of the pond

i had considered putting hardware cloth (or maybe chicken wire) in ours around the edges 2 inches below the water level. it also would serve as a barrier from raccoons and other mischevious fish eating critters. just put the plants in there and the fish cant eat the roots. not sure if your pond is big enough for that though.
just a thought...
