I'm running a 55 gal with CF lights(compact flourcents) and I currently have some moving water, LR and a few soft hardy corals such as Capnella. The tank has only been runing 3 or so weeks.

Besides using RO water is there a snail or some sort of way to beat back "brown" algea with a broom?

Please I need some advice since its the most ugly site I have ever seen. Thank god I don't have Red algea, huh?

It is quite normal for a new tank to go through an brown algae bloom. It should go away on its own in time, but in the meantime i guess just scrape enough off the glass so that it isn't too ugly and wait. I also found that nerite snails did a fairly good job on the stuff.
