I will soon be buying two or three fancy goldfish and would like to be prepared before any health problems crop up. What are the most common medications that should be kept on-hand when keeping fancies? I would assume some medications would need replaced occasionally as they age. I have no trouble finding imformation about myriad illnesses goldfish may or may not get but find little indication of which will be the most common I should be prepared for. I don't want to waste money on medicine I'll probably never use.
Of course prevention is preferable. A small UV filter (already have it) and clean water should reduce the risk of Ick. I'm still reading up on foods to prevent swim bladder problems. What other things should I be anticipating?
The only tank mates will be some live plants and perhaps 1-3 snails (Apple or Trumpet I think).
