From reading many of the posts around here and elsewhere, Ive noticed that when someone has one problem or another, these problems can sometimes be solved with fish... for example... Got Snails:Get a Loach, Got Algae:Get an Oto, etc. But if there are aggressive fish in the tank (African/SA cichlids) that will eat the helpers... what do you do?

C'mon, Luca...

Make them an offer they can't refuse! :)

Try helpers that are as large or larger than the nasties!

I have a nasty pair of Telmatachromis dhonti that have always picked @ the gibbiceps that I use to keep tank algae in check. Three weeks after I got them they whacked their three gibbi tankmates. I replaced the deceased gibbis with two 9" whoppers. The dhonti male will still pick at the gibbis from time to time, but he hasn't chased them down like he used to do with the 4" specimens I had.

What type of nasties are you keeping?
