can a mollie and a platy have babies?

my mollie is female and looks very big today, fat! and just hanging on top near a corner.

and the platy, (male) swims around and hangs with her for a minute then back again.

Yes, it's entirely possible that these two fish could breed. It might also be the case that the Platy is still pregnant from previous encounters with a male Platy up to two months ago. How long have you had both fish?

less than 2 months, my mollie is the oldest in the tank. my fist fish nearly 2 months ago. the male mollie died on me. then i got teh red platy.

so maybe the mollie that died left a little somthing behind?

Whoops, you said the molly was the female...I need to slow down some times...

Yes, again, it is entirely possible that the female molly is still pregnant from the male molly.

Pregnancy is possible, but I would also consider the possibility of a swim bladder disorder and would start feeding some fiber ( zucchini, spinach, peas) just in case.
