In nature, or public aquarium. They live up to 18 - 20 years.
I sent a better picture of what it looks like.

I also have more pictures of adults and the teeth they have.

Rarely will you find anyone that will be able to house a fish that adult size properly. The fish was better off left where they found it. :(

Don't just assume that the Shedd will have an extra huge empty tank for a giant fish that will eat almost anything that lives with it.

Yes, I agree.
I know Shedd isn't looking for hand-outs (as in fish) because it cost to keep them.
I live right across the lake from Chicago.
I always do my homework (research) before I do anything.
Well, I am also finding out that the Mangrove Snapper that is native to the US is different Lutjanus griseus, Grey snapper also called the Mangrove Snapper and the Lutjanus cyanopterus
Cubera snapper are all very similar.
Hummm!
Well, there goes that idea of release.
