It's been awhile since I've had a batch of convict fry and all breeding attempts seem to have been failures so far. I think the pair that I thought were the parents of the fry weren't the parents after all. In fact I now believe the pair are both females. Tankmates to that pair are a female convict and a small male convict (which none of the females are interested in). Could the batch of fry that hatched a long time ago been the result of the only male believed to be in the tank sneaking in and fertilizing the eggs when no one was paying attention?. Should they all go on Jerry Springer? :) lol. But seriously has anyone had this happen to them?

In my experience with Convicts, if they arent breeding something just aint right.
Id say your guess is the right one...they MUST be of the same sex.
I think all the Cons ive had would breed in a puddle if you left em there a day or three.
