When you bought it was it attached to anything and then removed from that. It is possible its foot was damaged.

Also how good is the water quality? How much lighting do you have?

I would try PMing Oriongirl about this topic. Or esle MonoSebaelover. They seem to be really up on their anemone knowledge, and have a lot of practicle knowledge that I just can't claim to have.

But I would also read
http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=633
and
http://www.carlosreef.com/AnemoneFAQ.pdf

There is some good info there for you. Be aware that the anemone itself require meaty foods, but the photsynthetic critters that live in its belly and help it survive require intense lighting.

I would guess that its foot was damaged. Unfortunatly if the foot is damaged, moving it to a new system (tank) will pretty much mean its death. Try setting it upright on a piece of live rock, with indirect current. Current is very important to these guys as they need high oxygen levels but direct current will not make it easy for the anemone to try and keep itself upright.
