I used some Melafix and Pimafix last night and this morning my fish were dead.

I have my water tested every Friday at the local fish store!
NO ammonia
NO nitrites
NO nitrates

the only ones that are alive are my Figure 8 Puffer, Green Chromide, & a red scat. The red scat is laying on its side breathing heavily. Each water change it gets better.
I dosed 8 tsp of Melafix and 8 tps of Pimafix around 6 - 7 pm.
It states 1 tsp for every 10 gal.
I have a 150 gal so that is half dose of each.
I called them and they said it was something else wrong with my tank.
Also to send them the rest of the product to them.
I will be keeping samples of both and told them I would send it then I will be seeking legal action.

Did you increase surface agitation? IME, Melafix results in lowered O2 in the tank. For fish that are already sick, this can be fatal. I don't recomend either product.

I have been using Melafix for years w/o any problems (except 1 time that I had overdosed). Why don't you have any nitrAtes? An established tank should have some nitrAtes.

I still don't think it was the Mela/Pimafix. I use the concentrated pond size w/o problems

Well, I haven't had a problem like this before. So what do you think it is since the only thing I did out-of-the-ordinary is use melafix and pimafix.
I have used both before not together with good results.
Well I am sending the product back so they can test it.
I have kept a sample of each just incase it needs to go further.
They said I might have gotten an contaminated product.

Do some more water changes...at this point it won't hurt.... Can you put a airstone or something to get more oxygen in there quick?

For "tainted" water, add carbon to your filter.

I have taken the living fish out and put them in the feeder tank.
The red scat is still on its side and there is discoloration, like the kind you get when the fish has just died. It can't swim right and all it does is breath. If it does try to swim it doesn't have any direction except forward or straight.
Question now is should I put it out of its misery?
If so how do I go about doing this?
I can't flush it. It is too big.

I had just put 32oz of new carbon in a two/three weeks ago.
16oz in the Eheim 2026 3 weeks ago & 16oz in the Eheim 2228 2 weeks ago.

Filtration (about 1825 gph through filtration)
Eheim 2026 (250 gph)
Eheim 2228 (275 gph)
Pentair Bio-lifegard single system
Mechanical
Chemical
Heater
UV <--Periodic
Hyperbrax Reactor --> O2 reactor.<--Periodic
QuietOne Pump 6000 (1506 gph) (12.2' Max Head) (about 500 gph actual after running through the filtration)

2 Hagen 804 AquaClear Powerhead w/ Quick Filters (400 gph each).
SeaClone Protein Skimmer 100 <--Periodic monthly to bi-monthly run it for about a day.
Cell Pore bottom <-- Like a fluid bed. I have design the bio-lifegard return to be able to run as a reverse undergravel filter when switched. 3 port in the bottom of my tank allow water to evenly flow out under 3 under gravel trays then through the cell pore then into the tank.
Food doesn't get caught down there if it does one of the red legged crabs crawls down in one of the corners and eats any food that has fallen down there. Then returns to one of the three artifical mangrove root/tree trunks.
Can almost hand feed the two crabs they reach out to get a piece of shrimp or algae tablet but stay about an inch away. I finally have to drop it, then they grab it and run back into the roots to hide while they eat.
Yes they survived they are both around an inch.

Chemical Filter Media
Pelletized Activated Carbon
De-Nitrate
Nitrate Sponge

I also have Machanical and Biological Filter Media <-- that should be a given.

The Bio-LifeGard System is on a timer it shuts off @ 12AM and turns back on @ 7AM everyday.
Pump, Heater, & UV Sterilizer <-- if I have the Sterilier in use.

I also use periodically: (1/2 dose when used)
Marine-Care Plus (new water - full dose)
Liquid Gravel Vac (once every 6 months)
Marine-Clean (one of the 3 once a month)
Marine-Max
Nitromax Marine

For the last two months I haven't had Marine-Clean or Marine-Max.
