Slightly lighter color, but otherwise it looks like the ones on PlanetCatfish that are sub-adults.

Yep. Come to the conclusion that the picture in Baensch is the odd one.

And yes, it's going to get large :rolleyes: ..... As you can see in the pic, it already bulldozes my Vallis.....

They tried to tell me when I got it that they only got to 6". I knew that wasn't true - I expected about a foot. Seems it might well get bigger than that...

This is the most common "variety" of gibbiceps I see. There's like 4-5 different ones that are called gibbiceps, like the royals. I dunno, but I doubt they are all the same specie.

When I went to an LFS in Houston, they had one (same variety) that must have been at least 2 ft long and had to weigh around 15 lbs. It was the largest I had ever seen.
