No I haven't researched this at all (obviously!) but instead of taking over someone else's thread, I decided to start another.
Do clown loaches like Melania?
I only have aq. gravel and not very deep at that.
Any snails that are beneficial AND could survive in a tank w/o much gravel and loaches? Thanks.

I don't know what Melania are (I assume a variety of small snail) but from experience, clown loaches will eat any snails that they can get. I was able to keep a large snail with them, but keep in mind that a large snail will need to be feed.

You mean you have to feed snails?? Don't they just eat algae like every other algae eater?? :D
