Hey eveyone, i'm planning on building a 66" x 30" wood and glass aquarium. Three sides wood and one glass. Thinkin about using 12mm tempered glass but having doubts bout the thickness. Jus wondering if anyone has any experience in building aquariums this size and if I can safely get away with 12mm. Don't really want to get into any thicker...$$$$$$$$$...lol. Been searching everywhere and can't get an answer. Tried the GARF site but when i punch the calculations in all I get is that they don't recomend building an aquarium any higher than 24" when it's that long. PLEASE help me.
thanx....

12mm is less than 1/2". At 30" high

Play it safe. Go with 20mm.

The best way is to saturate it with a few coats of water potable safe epoxy. I'm on my third coat, then I'm going to put a couple of layers of fibreglass over that.
