    bacter-vital

i am cycling my 55gal. tank with cocktail shrimp(air-fresheners everywhere)and i bought this stuff from the LFS called bacter-vital
which states on the bottle that u can add livestock immediately.
of course i know this is bogus but i have been cycling for 3 days and i am at the peak on all my tests.looks like they will drop any
time.what i am asking is are these going to be false readings?
i mean when the chems im using wear off will my water go back to bad conditions or is it really happening this fast and its legit?
so once my tests show to be top notch i am planning on adding a yellow tang.two weeks later i will add a cherub angel and then
a blue ringed octopus. just kidding bout the octopus.

    my tank is 55gal.
    3 301 p heads
    10lbs. LR (i know i need more)
    deep sand bed
    2 10k lights
    prizm skimmer(not running yet)

Even nitrites/nitrates are spiked? I'd worry about that, since it seems more likely that they aren't coming from the natural production via bacteria. I can't really say for sure, though. I'd keep testing, and make sure that they all hit 0 before stocking the tank. Could be the tank is really well seeded with the LR you already have. I haven't heard of anyone whose had success with the bottled bacteris, but Bacter Vital isn't a product I've heard much about.

Bottom line--if the tank is testing zero for ammonia and nitrite, you're good to go. If you're not comfortable with the readings, have your LFS confirm them for you.

Actually, the blue rings are pretty cool. They aren't threatening, and aren't aggressive. I wouldn't trust one enough to pick one up, while I do trust the commons that much. You'd be surprised how many people have them.
