Does anyone know where I can buy a peacock bass? I'm looking for Cichla temensis. The one with the sharp yellow green contrast and the black bars and red orange pec fins etc. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

You know they get more than 3 feet in length when kept in a healthy enviroment, right?

Try http://aquabid.com if you can house them properly.

Yup, those things get friggin huge!!! They had one in field and stream a few months ago (fishing, not fish keeping). It would be a cool fish to have, if you converted your swimming pool into a fish tank.

I'm with the other two. Some fish just really aren't meant to be in aquariums.
A lfs had an Arapaigama (spelling?), who the heck considers one of the worlds largest freshwater fish as an aquarium cadidate?

red pacus get just as big as the peacock bass or bigger. All you need is to get a big tank.
