only if hes about 2" and that wont last very long
they grow rapidly and by the end of a year you'll have an 8" ping pong ball on your hands

depends on which one you want

heres the parrot cichlid, and the jellybean parrot, the jelly beans are the ones that are seriously dyed, they only grow to about 4 inches, i'd say a 20 high would be fine just dont add many other fish

I can't condone the purchase of jellybean parrots, or any dyed fish. I'd go for at least a 29 for a blood parrot.

It depends on the parrot. A 20 would be good for a while. It depends on the parent species. If it has heavy RD/midas blood, a 20 may not be big enough. My midas/RD has grown from 2 inches to 7 inches in 3 months with regular water changes and a high quality, varied diet.

i just can picture a full grown adult parrot in 20 gallons
and you know its not going to be the only fish in there, im sure a pleco will be added + something else. its really hard to refrain from keeping just one fish
