wow... i REALLY hope that they could do this, on the other hand, it could also make a VERY big bomb... and if they can make it into rocket fuel, they will probably end up using it in bombs (and in making electricity) this would mean that if a nuclear bomb converts 3% of matter to energy now, this one would do 100%....

That wouldn't make much sense as it takes way more energy to produce the anti matter than it creates in the reaction.

I think when it comes to solving our energy problem fusion is the key.

are you shure? only a few mililiters and you could go to mars! i'll bet it lets off more energy than it takes to make... but there are a lot of other problems, like the gamma rays!

The article says they are trying for no side effects..

"The NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC) is funding a team of researchers working on a new design for an antimatter-powered spaceship that avoids this nasty side effect by producing gamma rays with much lower energy."

Wonder if we will see this in our lifetimes? A real anti-matter craft...
