I have had a rash of heather problems lately. Mostly ebo-jagers but a few others.

Here is the problem.

They stick in the ON position. I come home and have a 90+ degree tank. It has already happened once in a tank of mine and ravaged the plant life.

Does anybody ever actually fix these? or is it always just a "go get a new one" solution path?

how old are they? most heaters have a bimetallic strip that turns them on and off. this can wear out over time, causing the thing to stick in the on position. i have always just gotten new heaters, but i am not positive that they can't be fixed. hopefully someone else can help you with this part of the question...
