I bought a bag of barley pellets for an outdoor pond to keep it clear of algae growth. The instructions say to drop a cup or so in the water. I wonder if this will result in sedimentation problems on the bottom. I wonder if it would be better to put the pellets in a linen bag. Any thoughts?
