I've owned a Spotted/Leopard Puffer for a few days now, and so far so good. I have it with 17 Cardinal and Jumbo Neon Tetras, 3 Clown Loaches, and 3 Gold Veil Angelfish. I plan on adding about 6 Boosemani Rainbows in a few weeks.
I have them all in freshwater and he seems to love his new home. He was in freshwater at the pet store with some Clown Loaches. All of the fish are too fast for him and I think they know he has the potential to be trouble, because they saw him rip apart a freeze dried krill. All of the fish stay out of his way for the most part. Every now and then my biggest Angelfish will peck him and the Clown Loaches seem like they don't care about his aggressive side. The Tetras just swim around him.
My logic is to keep him well fed to prevent any trouble. My tank is a 70 gallon bowfront, so there is plenty of room for all these guys. I have lots of plastic plants, rocks, and caves.
Please feel free to give me any advice or comments.
Thanks,
Neofish2
