Hi all,
I have a maroon clown fish that I have had for 9 months now. He is very healthy and is doing great! I started noticing part of my crushed coral bottom all over some of the coral pieces I have in my tank. Tonight I saw what was happening. My clown is making a hole at the back of my tank out of sight from the front and is picking the pieces up with her mouth (I'm assuming by now she is female because she is alone in my tank) and spitting them out in the front. Is this nesting behavour? Any opinions would be welcome. Either way it is interesting to look at.

Mine did that around its anemone to clear space around it. It also would knock corals and anything else over around the anemone. Not sure its a nesting behavior but Im venturing to say its nothing more than the clown protecting its home.
