I am piecing together my metal halide system and I'm not sure which sockets/brackets I need.
I received my two 250w IceCap MH/HQI ballasts yesterday - those are the only parts I have so far. I am planning to use mogul-style 10K Ushio bulbs with my flat aluminum reflector which is currently being used for my 4x96 PC setup. To start, I'd like to run the two 250w MH bulbs and two 96w actinic PC bulbs, but may want to upgrade to parabolic reflectors at a later date.
Can I use the same style socket bracket with both the flat reflector and the parabolic reflectors if/when I buy those? HelloLights seems to have different types of socket brackets for each style of reflector...but I don't see what the mounting difference is between the two types.
Here's the socket/bracket I'm considering: http://www.hellolights.com/mhmosowmobr.html. It says that this bracket fits their parabolic reflector. Will this also work with my flat reflector for now?
Lastly, would there be any advantage to going with a double-ended 10K Ushio setup instead?
