I am in the process of redoing my 125 for a cichlid tank. Right now I am doing a deep cleaning which involves tearing down and taking outside and really cleaning and completely reinstalling. I have a white film on my glass and I was wondering how is the best way to remove this? Thanks Shanezoid.

what kind of white film? oily? dry and crusty? mineral?

my default scrubbing for an EMPTY tank is Mr. Clean 'magic eraser' sponge, and a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water.

sometimes there is no easier way short of using harsh chemicals and risking trace amounts which will still kill fish.

Have you tried really hot water and a razor? Sometimes that alone will do the trick without any kind of cleanser.
